Thank you...

We want to say “Thank you”.

Thank you to all our guests who have been generous enough to visit with us over the last two and a half years - to all those who intended to come, but had to cancel because of the Covid-19 travel restrictions and had their plans completely shattered… and to all those who decided to come and visit us in Orange as soon as the restrictions were lifted.

To all of you we want to say, “Thanks for choosing to stay with us and experience a little bit of life in our town”.

When we took on renovating The Sampson – Orange three and a half years ago, we weren’t sure if we were nuts… or at the very least, a little foolhardy.

What we wanted was somewhere we could stay - and would want to stay! - when we came to Orange for work.  We figured, perhaps other people might like to stay there when we weren’t using it.

Off the back of that decision, made over a cup of coffee, we went and spent a small fortune [actually quite a large one!] on the best Sheridan bed and bath linen we could get – after all that’s what we’d want when we stayed.

The only problem was we were a little premature and had nowhere to store it, so it stayed in Sheridan’s backroom for some months till we had completed the work.

Our first guests were friends from Sydney, who we instructed to be brutally honest and tell us where we fell short, what we needed to improve on. They loved it so much they came back a couple of weekends later for another ‘test run’ – they now live in Orange just up the street from us.

Since then we been quite simply gob smacked by the great people we’ve had the good fortune to come visit with us and the generous sentiments written in our visitors book on their leaving.

And we’ve been completely blown away by the response since the travel; restrictions were lifted!  Wow!  We wondered how long it would take before we saw people deciding to come and visit again… about 24 hours!

To all of you – including those we are yet to meet… we thank you… and Orange thanks you.

You have contributed to our amazing experience at The Sampson – Orange and to making our city a great, vibrant, and exciting place to live.
